Pharmacy

Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing and dispensing drugs. It is a health profession that links health sciences with chemical sciences and aims to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.

The scope of pharmacy practice includes more traditional roles such as compounding and dispensing medications, and it also includes more modern services related to health care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information. Pharmacists, therefore, are the experts on drug therapy and are the primary health professionals who optimize use of medication for the benefit of the patients.

Pharma course typically comprises six subject areas and they are as follows:

  • Data analysis in pharmacy
  • Biological outcome of medicines
  • Invention of medicines
  • Dosage form design
  • Professional and social aspects of pharmacy
  • Quality use of medicine

D.PHARMA Diploma of Pharmacy

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 with 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

B.PHARMA Bachelor of Pharmacy

Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 with 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

Lateral Entry in 2nd Year of B Pharmacy Admission: Pass in diploma in Pharmacy D.Pharma (2yrs. Or more) with at least 50% aggregate in all semesters/ Year.

PHARMA.D Doctor of Pharmacy

Duration: 6 Years

Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 with 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm)

  • Retailer (Medicine Shop)
  • Dispensing Pharmacist
  • Graduation (B. Pharma)

Bachelor in Pharmacy (B. Pharm)

  • Pharmaceutical Industry- QA/QC Production/Manufacturing
  • Regulatory Affairs (filing new drug application etc.)

  • Drug Inspectors
  • Clinical Research
  • Insurance Sectors
  • Various certificate courses in Management, Industrial applications
  • Can establish own Pharmaceutical Company.
  • Can give their license on rent for establishing a manufacturing company.
